Five boys have been charged after a stolen SUV was brought to a standstill with tyre spikes in Cairns.
The Mitsubishi Outlander was stolen from a Whitfield address on Friday April 24.
Police were able to successfully deploy a tyre deflation device on Windarra Street in Woree early the following morning.

Five boys aged between 11 and 17 have since been arrested.
The group is also accused of break and enters in Bayview heights and Whitfield, as well as multiple attempted break-ins in Mount Sheridan, Mooroobool and Manunda between April 23 and April 25.
They’ve been slapped with a total of 34 offences.
