A 40-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged armed robbery in Earlville.
It’s alleged the man entered the store and threatened a staff member with a knife, demanding money and cigarettes on Balaclava Street yesterday afternoon.
Officers intercepted the man a short time later near the location and he was taken into custody, allegedly with a quantity of cash and several packets of cigarettes in his possession.

The man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, obstruct police and assault.
He has been refused bail and will appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
