A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 54-year-old woman in Mareeba.
Police were called to a home on Downs Street at around 7:15 yesterday morning (April 16) finding the woman dead upon arrival.
A crime scene was declared, with a 34-year-old man believed to be known to the woman arrested a short time later.

He’s now been charged with multiple offences including contravention of a Domestic Violence order.
He’ll appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court today (April 17).
