I don’t remember Stabby as one of the seven dwarves.
A new dark reimagining of beloved children’s classic fairy tale Snow White and The Seven Dwarves releases in American Cinemas this week.
The Death of Snow White is the next in what appears to be a trend of beloved fairy tale classics being remade with a dark horror twist. Just last month I was writing about Aladdin getting a horror film, what’s with this trend of seeing fairy tales turned horrific?
Unlike Aladdin though, this film is staying fairly close to its roots. The synopsis reads:
“Pursued by her stepmother for eternal beauty, Snow White flees into a terrifying forest and aligns with seven bloodthirsty dwarves – cold-blooded assassins with a knack for brutal killings. Her spirit is tested in this grim fairy tale.”
You know, if its roots had seven dwarves that trained with Gimli from Lord of the Rings. Catch the trailer below here!
The film is yet to have an Australian release date, so we’ll have to make due with the newest Snow White film that released earlier this year.
