Daniel Craig has danced his way through a vodka commercial, revealing a side to the James Bond actor we’ve never seen.

But there’s no acting here – Craig plays himself, and we’re loving it.

The ad is directed by award-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi of Thor: Ragnarok fame, which explains the fun factor, and features an original song written and performed by Rita Ora (who just got hitched with Waititi) and Giggs.

The ad for Belvedere Vodka starts in moody black and white with a serious-faced Daniel Craig looking dapper in a tux. It could easily be a scene from a Bond movie.

But then Craig gives a cheeky smirk and steps into a car, emerging on the other side to a world of colour and dressed in black trousers, singlet and leather jacket.

Cue the dancing. And boy, the man can move.

With plenty of hip thrusts, booty twists and finger clicks, he dances his way through the Parisian hotel, at one point spinning a bottle of the vodka to decide which way to go next.

Watch the Director’s Cut, which shows some fun outtakes at the end.

It impossible to watch the commercial and not think of actor Christopher Walken dancing through a hotel in the 2000 video for FatBoy Slim’s song Weapon of Choice. It’s clearly a tribute.

(Also, keen Bond fans might know that Belvedere Vodka was the official partner of James Bond movie Spectre, with an ad campaign featuring Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman, who played the role of Estrella in the film.)

It’s been fun seeing what Craig has gotten up to after hanging up his James Bond tux in 2021.

Playing Detective Benoit Blanc with his southern drawl in the 2019 hit movie Knives Out was a massive departure from serious 007, and Craig clearly enjoyed himself in the role. He’s back in the follow up, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in December and will reprise his role in a third and final movie in the series.

Maybe it’s time he starred in a dancing movie next?
