A 49-year-old woman has been caught driving dangerously while under the influence at Babinda.
Around 8.00pm on Saturday officers intercepted the blue Mazda 3 after reports she was driving dangerously.
No one was injured.
The vehicle was pulled over on Knowles Street and the woman refused to comply with a roadside breath test.
She was transported to Babinda Station where she allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.255%.
The Babinda woman was charged with one count of driving a vehicle under the influence of liquor.
She was issued a notice to appear in the Innisfail Magistrates Court on June 1.
Babinda Constable Ash Quick says there is no excuse for drink driving.
“It’s incredible that no one was seriously injured or worse.
“By getting behind the wheel after drinking or consuming illicit drugs, you are putting not only your life, but your passengers, and other road users at risk too.”
