A car has ploughed into an Edge Hill cafe, leaving six people in hospital.
Emergency Services were called to Ozmosis Cafe on Collins Avenue at 11.24am on Tuesday.
A woman in her 80s, a man and woman in their 70s, two women in their 50s and a woman in her 40s were taken to Cairns Hospital in stable conditions with minor injuries.
Of the six people injured, only one of them was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.
Officer in Charge of Cairns Station James Foreman says it was a chaotic scene.
“On arrival at the scene, it was actually quite hectic,” OIC Foreman says.
“There was multiple people there that weren’t actually patients, but we quickly how many patients there were and controlled the scene.
“Multiple resources attended the scene, including four ambulance units, critical care paramedics and a lifeflight doctor.”
