A 77-year-old motorcyclist has died following a three-vehicle crash at Mareeba.
Police say at around 10.30am on Thursday a 2004 Mazda3, a 2020 Mitsubishi Triton and a 2015 Honda CB125 motorbike were involved in a crash on Herberton Street.
The rider of the motorbike, a Mareeba man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Cairns Base Hospital.
He has since passed away from his injuries.
The incident brings this years death toll from road crashes in the Far Northern region up to six.
The occupants of the other two vehicles were physically uninjured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing its investigations into the circumstances of the incident and is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed it or may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
