Far North police say their latest crime blitz is delivering results, with more than 120 people charged with over 400 offences under Operation Yankee Forge.

Launched in late February, the high‑visibility crackdown is targeting stolen cars, robberies and break‑ins across Cairns. Officers say 30 stolen vehicles have already been reported this month alone.

Recent arrests include a 14‑year‑old boy tracked through bushland by Police Dog Duke after a Toyota Prius was stolen from Earlville. Several teens have also been charged over multiple stolen vehicles, including a Hyundai i30 taken on March 5.

An 18‑year‑old man has been charged with stealing four cars from Kewarra Beach and Trinity Beach, along with several other property offences.

Police say the operation is a continuation of daily efforts to disrupt high‑harm offending, with both covert and high‑visibility patrols underway across the region.

Operation Yankee Forge will continue throughout the month as investigations into recent offences progress.
