Manhunt for driver involved in fatal hit-and-run in Trinity Park

Cairns police are appealing for public assistance after a tragic hit-and-run in Trinity Park claimed the life of a woman on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 4:03 pm at the intersection of Reed Road and Roberts Drive. Police say a white SUV struck the woman and fled the scene. She sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead before emergency services could provide help.

Detectives are urging the driver involved to come forward. Authorities are also calling on anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has dashcam footage of the area, to contact police.
