A man has been charged after allegedly pushing another man off a retaining wall at the Cairns Esplanade.
Police say an altercation occurred between two groups around 6.30pm yesterday, when a 28-year-old man was pushed over a retaining wall onto rocks below.
He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Cairns Hospital in a potentially life threatening condition.

A 35-year-old Woree man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will front Cairns Magistrates Court today.
