A man has suffered critical injuries after he was hit by a car at Smithfield.
It happened at the intersection of the Captain Cook Highway and Kennedy Highway just after 7pm Monday.

The man in his 30s has been taken to Cairns Hospital in a critical condition with head and chest injuries.
