A man accused of driving at police officers has been charged in Cairns.
Around 8.20pm Monday, police officers were conducting Random Breath Testing at a static site on Aumuller Street, Bungalow when a Kia Stonic has allegedly driven at officers causing them to jump out of the way.
The vehicle fled the scene, with no people injured during the incident.
Police found the vehicle a short time later abandoned at Manunda.
Investigations led police to a Westcourt address around 1.30am today, where a 20-year-old local man was taken into custody.
He has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, fail to comply with requirement to stop, driving without a licence and possessing dangerous drugs (cannabis).
His bail has been refused and he is expected to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today.
