Appeals for information after husky found injured in Port Douglas

A dog has been seized following an incident at a Port Douglas service station.

At around 11.00pm on May 2, officers were called to reports of an animal incident at Craiglie.

When they arrived they found a 28-year-old Port Douglas man and a husky with a significant laceration to its shoulder.

The husky was taken to an emergency vet in Cairns for treatment and she remains under the care of veterinary staff.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the man, or who may have seen him and the dog around Port Douglas or Craiglie overnight on May 2, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
