A man accused of assaulting an elderly man at Cairns North has been charged.
The 44-year-old allegedly punched and kicked a 74-year-old multiple times following an argument at a Lake Street business last night.
Police attended arresting the younger man at the scene.

The victim was taken to Cairns Hospital where he is being treated for a serious injury.
Officers have charged the 44-year-old man with one count each of grievous bodily harm and serious assault person over 60.
His bail was denied and he will appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today.
