Free Circus Classes & Family Fun Saturday 18 April | 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM 2C, 127 Anderson Street, Manunda Step right up for a day of high-flying fun as Cairns joins the global celebration of World Circus Day! CYCAS Circus (Cairns Youth Circus Arts School) is inviting the community to experience the magic of circus with a full afternoon of free 30-minute circus classes and entertainment for all ages. Whether you’re a curious beginner or an experienced performer, this special event offers a chance to try something new in a safe, supportive and exciting environment.

• Live demonstrations throughout the day

Come & Try Circus Participants will have the opportunity to try a range of circus skills including:
• Juggling, poi and hula hoop
• Mini trampoline and tumbling
• Aerial apparatus including trapeze, silks, cloud swing, lyra and aerial yoga
• Stilt walking and more
Classes are available for preschool children, school-aged kids and adults, making it a perfect activity for the whole family. Visitors are welcome to come along to watch, explore the space, and see circus training in action throughout the afternoon. Meet the coaches, tour the venue and experience the vibrant atmosphere of a real circus training space. Circus training helps build confidence, strength, balance, coordination and creativity, while encouraging teamwork, friendships and a love of movement.
Bookings are essential. Participants must reserve their free class online prior to the event.

About CYCAS Circus CYCAS Circus (Cairns Youth Circus Arts School) is Far North Queensland’s leading youth circus troupe, offering dynamic performances and inclusive circus training since 2004.
Founded by theatre and circus arts professional Patti Burnheim, CYCAS inspires young people of all backgrounds to build confidence, fitness, and community through the art of circus. From stilt walking to aerial silks, juggling to acrobalance, CYCAS provides a supportive environment where children, teens, and adults can grow physically, mentally, and socially. Originally launched as an after-school program, CYCAS has grown into a vibrant, not-for-profit organisation who celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024.
CYCAS continues to be a creative hub for both youth and adult performers, with its sister program Aerial Active offering adult circus and fitness classes for all skill levels. With a new home at 127 Anderson Street, Manunda, CYCAS remains committed to bringing the joy of circus to the Cairns community and beyond.
