Dance Extravaganza returns in 2026 with a spectacular “Twist” — bigger, brighter, and more dazzling than ever.
This unforgettable evening proudly supports Meredith Anne Rundell Inc., a local charity dedicated to granting wishes for women living with metastatic (Stage 4) breast cancer, enriching their lives with hope, strength, and joy.
Inspired by Meredith, a Cairns local who loved dance, the event celebrates the art form she cherished while continuing her legacy of positivity, courage, and living life fully. Audiences will experience two and half electrifying hours of world-class entertainment, featuring outstanding local and national performers in a breathtaking showcase of glitz, glamour, glitter, and spectacular costumes.
Dance Extravaganza takes audiences on a vibrant journey around the world through dance — from the rhythmic beats of a Rio Carnival Samba parade to the speed and flair of Salsa, the explosive energy of Hip Hop, the mystique of Belly Dance, the elegance of Ballet, and many more captivating styles.
Now in its 11th year, the Cairns Dance Extravaganza has become one of the region’s most colourful and uplifting performance events, celebrating the extraordinary dance talent found across Far North Queensland and beyond. Co-founded in 2015 by Kevin Loccisano, after the passing of his partner Meredith Rundell, the charity continues to honour her spirit by helping women with metastatic breast cancer fulfil meaningful wishes and experience moments of joy. With around 30 performances from dancers and teams from Cairns, Townsville and beyond, this year’s show promises to be the most exciting yet.
Dance Extravaganza 2026 will be held at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC), with all proceeds supporting Meredith Anne Rundell Inc.
