Housing, crime and healthcare were some of the top focuses for The Crisafulli Government’s first state budget, handed down yesterday.
With David Crisafulli announcing $560 million for new early intervention programs – including a new Youth Justice School to be built in the Far North.
Over 560 new social and community homes are also in the pipeline with Cairns receiving the largest contribution across the state of $73 million for new homes and $52.6 million to upgrade existing ones.
The Far North will also receive $14 million for a new youth mental health facility, $67 million for the ongoing works of the hospital expansion, as part of the Crisafulli Government’s Hospital Rescue Plan.
