This Accused Burglar Might Want To Consider A New Career

An 18-year-old Manunda man was left wondering if it was all a bad dream after being arrested on the Northern Beaches on Thursday morning.

It will be alleged that he broke into a Morgan Street home at Yorkeys Knob at around 3:00AM.

Two wallets and a set of car keys were stolen from inside the home whilst the occupants were asleep.

A neighbour alerted police after seeing group of youths at the front of house who fled in two vehicles upon being spotted.

Officers from the Greater Cairns Task Force allegedly located a man asleep inside the resident’s locked car with two stolen wallets and car keys and he was subsequently arrested.

The 18-year-old Manunda man was charged with burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on December 18.
