Motorbike Rider Dies Following Collision, Mareeba
UPDATE | Police are investigating the circumstances of a fatal traffic crash at Mareeba on Monday.
Just after 8:00AM, a car was turning on to the Kennedy Highway from Malone Road collided with a motorcyclist.
A 54-year-old female rider was conveyed to Mareeba Hospital in a critical condition where she later died.
A 63-year-old female driver of the car suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
The Kennedy Highway will be closed later today to allow officers from the Forensic Crash Unit to continue investigations.
Motorists are advised to take extra care when travelling through the area and to allow extra travel time.

EARLIER | A motorbike rider is fighting for life after colliding with a car in Mareeba.
The accident happened at the intersection of Malone Road and Kennedy Highway at 8.03AM on Mlonday.
The rider was taken to Mareeba Hospital to meet with the rescue helicopter.
They are in a critical condition.
