Palm Cove Driver Almost Four Time Over Legal Limit
A Clifton Beach man is accused of getting behind the wheel while almost four times over the legal limit in Palm Cove.
The 21-year-old was intercepted by Police on the Captain Cook Highway at around 10.50AM on Saturday.
Officers allegedly spotted the vehicle been driven by the man, clip a light pole before coming to a stop on the highway.
He agreed to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive reading.
The man was taken to the Smithfield Police Station for a further breath test where he allegedly returned a result of 0.186.
The man was immediately suspended from driving. He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on December 16.
