Cairns North Man Facing Car Theft And Fraud Allegations
A 33-year-old Cairns North man is accused of nicking property from a vehicle and fraud.
It will be alleged the man gained entry to a motor vehicle parked at a Grafton Street accommodation complex on the afternoon of May 31 and stole a debit card.
It will be further alleged that the card was used to make several fraudulent purchases at Cairns North businesses on the same day.
Detectives from the Cairns Property Crime Squad executed a search warrant at a Sheridan Street address at Cairns North just before 3pm yesterday. The 33-year-old was taken into custody at the scene and several items of interest to the investigation were allegedly located and seized.
The man was charged with one count of entering premises and stealing and four counts of fraud.
He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on June 26.
