The Cairns Chamber of Commerce has been working closely with the Cairns Regional Council in ensuring local businesses have their input in the future of the Cairns CBD and the Esplanade.
Currently, the Esplanade is closed for four special events per year – New Year’s Eve, Targa Great Barrier Reef, Ironman and Festival Cairns.
“Our role as a Chamber of Commerce is to advocate on behalf of, and act in the best interest of the Cairns business community. We are confident in our ability to work with the Cairns Regional Council to ensure positive outcomes for local businesses,” said Debbie-Anne Bender, CEO of the Cairns Chamber of Commerce.
“We will be actively visiting local businesses in the coming days to hear their opinions on CBD trading and what they would like to see as part of any future Esplanade redevelopments,” said Nick Loukas, President of the Cairns Chamber of Commerce.
Feedback received will be collated and presented to the Cairns Regional Council and made available in March.
