Teen Rapist Returned to Jail
Queensland's Court of Appeal has ordered a teenage rapist be sent back to jail because his original sentence was too low.
Xzaveah Wano and a friend broke into the woman's home in Cairns and sexually assaulted her while she slept in January last year.
Wano was sentenced to three years' jail in December but was released immediately due to time served in pre-sentence custody.
Attorney-General Yvette D'ath appealed, with the court handing down a sentence of three-and-a-half years.
That means Wano will be returned to jail until he is eligible for parole on July 24.
