Boy charged over two armed robberies on Cairns buses

A boy has been charged over two alleged armed robberies on Cairns buses.

The 15-year-old is accused of threatening a driver with a knife and demanded money around 7.30pm on Sunday at Dempsey Street, Gordonvale.

He allegedly grabbed the cash box and fled from the scene.

Police commenced and investigation however were unable to locate the offender.

Then on Monday, it's further alleged the boy held up another bus driver whilst armed with a knife at the same location.

It's alleged the boy fled with cash but has since been charged by police.

He's facing two armed robbery charges, as well as one count each of obstructing police, possession of a drug utensil and possession of dangerous drugs.

The teen will face the Cairns Children’s Court.
