Woman charged with murder over Manoora stabbing, police call for witnesses

Police are appealing for further information after the death of a man in Manoora on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to a unit complex on Marchant Street at 11.50pm.

A 25-year-old man, who suffered a serious neck injury was found dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old Mareeba woman was located a short time later, allegedly in possession of a knife.

She was arrested and charged with murder.

It is alleged the man and woman, who were known to each, were near the James Cook University before making their way to Trinity Beach.

It is alleged the pair caught a taxi from Trinity Beach to Marchant Street.

Anyone who seen an Indigenous man and woman near the university grounds and Trinity Beach area on Friday between 10.30pm and 11.30pm are urged to contact police.
