Cairns bar pinged for Covid breaches
A Cairns bar has been fined nearly seven thousand dollars for Covid breaches last weekend.
Police say the bar, in Grafton Street, allowed large groups to gather and not follow COVID safe social distancing practices last Friday night.
Cairns officers with the assistance of Tropical Public Health Services began their investigation after issues were raised of patrons not social distancing on October 9.
Investigators will allege the business failed to comply with CHO directions by allowing large groups to gather and not follow COVID safe social distancing practices.
The venue has been fined more than six thousand six hundred dollars.
