Drug and other charges, Cairns North
Two Cairns men aged 23 and 27 were charged on Wednesday following a traffic intercept at Cairns North.
Cairns CIB detectives intercepted a vehicle as it was leaving a McLeod Street address at around 10am.
The male driver allegedly produced a stolen driver licence and provided a false name.
Officers spoke with his male passenger and allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine in his possession.
The men were detained and a search warrant was executed at a nearby residential unit.
A quantity of methylamphetamine, a phone, a sum of cash, a knife and other drug related paraphernalia were seized as a result.
The 27-year-old man was charged with possession of a dangerous drug, supplying a dangerous drug, possession of things used in the commission of a crime and failing to produce a vehicle for impoundment.
He was also charged with three offences under the Bail Act.
The 23-year-old man was charged with unlicenced driving, contravening a requirement, possession of tainted property, and contravening a domestic violence order.
He was also further charged with a Bail Act offence.
Both men are expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later Thursday morning.
