Fraud charge, Palm Cove
A Cairns North man was arrested and charged Tuesday morning following investigations into a fraud-related complaint.
It will be alleged that a credit card belonging to another man was unlawfully used to pay for accommodation at a Palm Cove resort complex on February 26.
The cardholder became aware of the unauthorised transaction upon receipt of his statement in April and the matter was reported to police.
Investigations led Cairns Property Crime Squad officers to a McLeod Street address at 9.30am Tuesday where they located and spoke with a 33-year-old man.
He was charged with one count of fraud and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 1.
