Bicycle crash, Manoora

Cairns police are investigating a traffic crash that occurred at about 1PM Thursday on Pease Street, Manoora near the intersection of Pioneer Street.

Police allege a cyclist, a 21-year-old Kuranda woman, failed to give way whilst crossing Pease Street and rode her bike directly into the path of a motorist.

The cyclist sustaining non-life threatening injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to Cairns Hospital for medical treatment for a facial fracture and injury to her arm.

The 71-year-old Edge Hill woman driving the car didn’t sustain any injuries, however her vehicle sustained front end damage.

Police investigations are continuing.
