Closer to end of life... but the battle has only just begun
This morning in the Breakfast Show I spoke to an incredibly brave woman. Tanya Battel, pictured above with her children, has a terminal diagnosis but is more concerned about those following in her footsteps.
Numerous recent polls show that the vast majority of Australians support Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) laws (more than 80% in some polls). Victoria and Western Australia have enacted such laws, but Queensland and the other states and territories have failed to enact the will of the electorate. Why is this the case? We know the often used war cry of not 'panering to minorities', so who is calling the shots on this issue? Listen to Tanya Battel's story below, or check out her petition HERE, and her VALE Facebook page with all the latest info on VAD laws HERE.
