A bridge too far?
This morning in the Breakfast Show I spoke to Professor Steve Turton from CQ University about the issue of a bridge over the Daintree River. Every couple of years this issue arises, and the last Council had proposed a duplication of the ferry service to help with traffic flow during busy periods. But for many residents north of the river, life without mains power and a permanent bridge understandably causes a great deal of frustration and can be a particular concern during an emergency.
