High and dry on the Daintree
This morning I spoke to Douglas Shire Mayor Julia Leu about the furore that has erupted in the Daintree as a result of the Daintree Ferry being dry docked at the end of February 2018. The vehicle ferry will be out of the water for about 5 days, meaning that locals will have to make do without this vital link. How could this situation have arisen? What steps have been taken to minimise the inconvenience to locals and have all realistic options been explored?
