A 16-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Cairns North.
The teen was crossing the road when she was struck by a Ford Mondeo on Sheridan Street around 3.20pm yesterday.
She was taken to Cairns Hospital in a serious condition before being flown to Townsville Hospital with significant head injuries.
The 29-year-old driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any dashcam of the incident is urged to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
It comes after a 28-year-old man was hit by a car at Mossman on Tuesday.
He was taken to Cairns Hospital in a critical condition.
