A GoFundMe has been set up for the family of a Cairns man who was hit and killed by a car at Manunda.

48-year-old Warren Eaton was killed when he was allegedly pushed into the path of an oncoming vehicle outside Raintrees Shopping Centre on April 1.

A 16-year-old boy accused of pushing the father-of-four onto the road has been charged with manslaughter.

Aaron McLeod from the Crime & Justice Action Group says Warren’s family are struggling to cover funeral and living costs.

“Warren was the breadwinner and protector of the family,” he says.

“The family has seven mouths to feed, so for the last couple of months the family has been trying to get support to bury their loved one.”

Mr McLeod says they have helped the family set up a GoFundMe to cover the funeral, as well as pay for things like rent and clothes for Warren’s children.
