Today I spoke to the Mayor about the results from the 'Our Cairns' survey. Listen below to our discussion.

Cairns residents had an opportunity to voice their opinion on controversial issues such as whether to one-lane CBD streets or allow people to legally consume alcohol on the Esplanade as part of the new 'Our Cairns' community survey. The multi-faceted survey enabled residents to tell the Council their views on a plethora of subject matters, including topical issues such as whether Cairns needs more police on its streets or whether dogs should be allowed in the CBD. Mayor Bob Manning thanked the 6783 residents who completed the 'Our Cairns' survey and the 1280 young people who filled out the inaugural Youth Survey, making it the biggest ever response to a community survey in Cairns.
