Today I spoke to Aaron McLeod, spokesperson for the Cairns Crime and Action Group, about the L.N.P plan to curb youth crime. Listen below to our discussion.

The Cairns Crime and Justice Action Group (CJAG) have welcomed tougher measures in the LNP youth justice six-point plan, announced this week by LNP Leader Deb Frecklington.

However, speaking to Aaron McLeod about the six-point plan he said, “LNPs suite of child protection and child detention policies have gaps in their attempt to push a tough political image on crime,

“Both Labor and the LNP are extreme on the soft and hard policies in their respective strategies. In our view, they lack balance, a non-partisan focus on prevention and closing the cultural gap ineffective parenting, families and public administration neglect,” said Mr McLeod
