The Wet Tropics Management Authority is responsible for managing the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, a beautiful and ancient landscape that stretches from south of Cooktown all the way to Townsville.
The Authority works closely with the community to protect and present the Area.
Through their partnerships they strive to ensure that the values of the World Heritage Area will be there for future generations.
Yellow crazy ants are an invasive species that threatens, not only the World Heritage Area, but also the broader environment, industry, wildlife and our lifestyle.
The Authority is working to eradicate this pest from the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and surroundings. They appreciate the support of the community, the sugar industry and other industries in making this important program a success.
