Brendan 'Jonesy' Jones is a born and bred Shire boy. He went to art school for a couple of years, where he learnt to paint fat old people in the nude. Art wasn’t to be, so a rich trail of jobs followed: sign-maker, outboard motor wrecker, truck driver, sewer worker, panel beater, kitchen hand, club DJ. Jonesy’s big radio break came in 1990 with a night job at 6KA Karratha. His radio journey took him around the country and finally to Sydney, where he hosted an afternoon and morning radio, and was the voice behind successful national countdown show, Planet Rock. Jonesy is now proudly in his 8th year of the successful partnership that is Jonesy and Amanda in the Morning here on WSFM. Jonesy and Amanda are also hosts of weekly national radio show “My Generation” Jonesy has received four Australian Commercial Radio Awards, including scooping up the gong (with Amanda!) for Best on Air team in 2012. Apart from hearing his dulcet tones on the wireless, you can also catch his mug on the TV, with regular spots on Mornings on Channel Nine. He’s also dabbled in the dramatic arts on SBS cult comedy, Swift and Shift. Brendan is a motorbike fanatic (don't get him started on his bike shed) and is the host of Temporary Australians on TVS in Sydney.
Amanda’s television career began as a producer's assistant onSimon Townsend's Wonder World. Within a week she was the program's head researcher and she hasn't looked back. Amanda’s impressive list of TV credits include Ray Martin's Midday Show, Beyond 2000, Channel Seven’s The Denton Show; ABC’s Mondo Thingo, SBS comedy Swift and Shift Couriers, Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Dancing with the Stars and was captain of the Baby Boomers on Channel 10’s award winning show “Talking ‘bout Your Generation”. She is currently the host of Channel 10’s fun lifestyle show “The Living Room”. Amanda also enjoyed a successful radio partnership with Andrew Denton for 5 years on Sydney’s Triple M. Amanda of course is now in her 8th year on the Jonesy and Amanda Breakfast show, as well as weekly national radio show “My Generation”, where she gets to hang out with her best friend Jonesy on the wireless each morning – and last year they picked up the gong for “Best On Air Team” at the 2012 Australian Commercial Radio Awards! In her down time, Amanda loves to hang out with her husband, two boys and her Border Collie Mini.
