Police believe explosive was 'discarded'
Police believe an explosive device in Edmonton was more likely to have been recklessly discarded than deliberately planted by the side of the road.
The search continues for the culprits who made the device and left it next to the Bruce Highway, forcing its closure for seven hours on Wednesday.
Senior Constable Russ Parker says at this stage it doesn't appear the culprit had malicious and calculated intentions.
"It was probably thrown from a vehicle by someone trying to get rid of it."
Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
